We work with a diverse network of vetted, community-based organizations in Africa, Central America, and Asia, who are solving the problems of poverty, poor health, economic insecurity, homelessness, and insufficient educational opportunities for children and families in their communities. In addition to vetting, our annual reporting process for member organizations centers on fiscal responsibility, effective governance, and community responsiveness. The annual reports help us ensure we are providing targeted support to our member organizations. They also help us meet donor needs – Most donors want to contribute to sustainable, well-run organizations.

One World establishes funds for each of its member organizations for general operations and programmatic activities related to the physical and mental health, safety, economic security, housing, feeding, or education of children, ages 0 to 25. Except for institutional grants, we do not restrict member organizations to use funds for specific programmatic or other purposes, aside from requiring them to use funds to support the activities described in the preceding sentence. All reasonable efforts are made to honor appropriate donor intentions. However, One World has sole discretion over deposits into Member Funds and disbursements from Member Funds.

Our 4% Sustainability Contribution assessed on donations made via check, wire, stock, and ACH is a key part of what allows us to provide services to international organizations. Donations made online through our website are subject to third party payment processing fees, so we do not assess a Sustainability Contribution on those donations. We encourage funders to add 4% to their grants and donations to cover the sustainability contribution or the majority of the third-party processing fees.
